Oregano (Origanum vulgare L.) - also known as wild marjoram, has been used for thousands of years as a spice and as an herb in folk medicine. It was very popular in ancient Egypt and Greece. It originates from the mountainous regions of the Mediterranean Sea. Mediterranean residents have valued oregano for centuries, partly because of its high tannin content (giving oregano a bitter taste). They like to drink oregano as herbal infusions or tea.

Valuable Essential Oil

The oregano plant contains between 0.1% to 1% essential oil.

For Dr. Jacob's Oregano Oil, it is gently extracted using a special steam distillation process. This ensures that all properties of the oregano oil are preserved. The particularly valuable components of oregano oil are phenolic monoterpenes carvacrol and thymol.

Each capsule of Dr. Jacob's Oregano Oil contains as much as 133 mg of oregano oil, including 70% carvacrol and 3.5% thymol. The oregano oil is dissolved in natural, high-quality olive oil.

Benefits of Oregano Oil Capsules

Many liquid-filled capsules are made from animal gelatin. Dr. Jacob's Oregano Oil capsules contain no animal-derived ingredients. We use vegan liquid GREENCAPS capsules, which ensure optimal absorption and stability of the contained oil.

Recommended daily intake: One capsule taken during a meal.
