Why Hair and not Blood?
For EHA testing, a hair sample is used because hair is one of the most metabolically active tissues. This means that the hair mineral analysis provides consistent information about the body's metabolic activity over a longer period of time, provides a more comprehensive and accurate picture of nutritional status over time than a blood analysis.
Blood is very important a homeostatic tissue and as such, in case of an elements deficiency it retrieves them from body organs. Therefore, analysis of blood and serum does not reflect the current concentration of these elements in the body, because homeostatic mechanisms regulate their levels.
The blood is the carrier of nutrients, while the cells are the recipients.
Blood is constantly circulating, so a blood test shows what is happening at the moment. In other words, the body discards what it has in excess into soft tissues, but it will not do so with deficiencies because there is a demand for them.
Often, excess stored elements in the body are undetectable in serum due to their movement from blood to tissues.

Where to start step by step:

- After payment, check the email that was used during the payment, as it will be the email through which we will contact you. You will receive a purchase confirmation and further instructions (note: if you don't see an email from us, check your SPAM folder or contact us).
- In the email reply (it is important to maintain continuity of the conversation), write us information such as:
- name and surname of the person being tested
- age of the person being tested
- in which language you want to receive the results
(Polish, English, Russian, Ukrainian, Czech or German). It is possible to choose multiple languages, but each additional translation costs £40.
- Then (within a maximum of 24 hours, ), you will receive a medical questionnaire intended for the person being tested, which must be filled out and submitted by clicking the SEND button.
- Prepare a hair sample according to the instructions:
In order to be suitable for analysis your hair needs to be:
- natural (i.e. not dyed)
- clean (without styling cosmetics, such as gels, mousses or sprays)
Cut the hair:
- with sharp scissors
- cut the hair near the scalp on the occiput (at the back of your head between the ears)
- cut a few small patches in various spots on the occiput only the first 3 - 4 cm (1.5 inches) of hair measured from the scalp are suitable for analysis - if your hair are longer send only the first 3 - 4 cm (1.5 inches) for the analysis
- we require 200 - 300 mg (0,007 - 0,01 oz) of a hair sample for the analysis (about one tablespoonful)
If your hair is too short:
The minimum length of hair to be tested is 2 cm. If the hair does not have the required length, wait until regrowth.
If your hair is dyed:
If your hair has been dyed recently, you should wait at least 8 weeks for dyeing and then cut it for 3-4 cm from the scalp.
- Pack and send it to the address indicated in the email (we recommend sending the hair sample by mail with a tracking number, unless you have chosen a more expensive package with a return envelope).
- Once the material arrives at the laboratory, you will be informed. The waiting time for the result is 10-15 business days from the moment the laboratory receives the hair sample.

- 2016 - After another audit, carried out in June, NZOZ Biomol-Med has received the certificate confirming operating with the compliance of the implemented Quality Management System with ISO 9001:2008.
- 2014 - Biomol-Med has received a certificate confirming the operating in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 in the field of Elemental analysis of hair, nails, daily urine, water; preparing results and determining the recommendations to the supplementation of vitamins and microelements and diet.
- 2012-13 We are planning to become an accredited laboratory according to ISO quality management system.
- 2010 Biomol-Med sp. z o. o. set up a non-public health care institution [NZOZ].
- 2003 - Biomol s.c. [civil law partnership] transformed into Biomol-Med sp. z o. o. [limited liability company].
- 2002 - Biomol became an independent institution through its own laboratory facilities.
