12 Milk Thistle ~ Silymarin

Silymarin, above all, is known for its beneficial effects on the liver and digestive system, and it is recommended as a way of supporting detoxification. Regardless of what form you buy thistle in, the ways to consume it are basically the same. Whole seeds can be grounded. Powder can be added to yoghurt, for example, or eaten raw. You can add thistle to herbal teas (it is not uncommon for it to be an ingredient in such products) or make your own infusion. If you can't get thistle in this form, it's worth reaching for an extract of the plant in tablets. People mainly use the supplement to treat liver conditions.
