08 ALA - Can you guess what it stands for?

Have you heard of Alpha Lipoic Acid before? Not many people have so this is the supplement we have chosen to explain in today's issue of the Get Body Back Health Newsletter. Interestingly, ALA has shown to be effective in lowering the risk of heart disease, and it has even been used for chemical and heavy metal poisoning, but its benefits don't stop there!

< Alpha Lipoic Acid >

d e f i n i t i o n :

An organic compound which acts as a powerful ANTIOXIDANT in the body. Chemically speaking, alpha lipoic acid is a fat that resembles vitamins. It is found in all cells of the human body and produced in the mitochondrion where it helps enzymes to convert nutrients into energy. Unfortunately, our body is only able to produce it in very small, often INSUFFICIENT quantities.

It is able to work in all cells/tissues in the body, unlike some other well-known antioxidants like Vitamin C and Vitamin E.

In food, it can be found in: 🥩 RED MEAT, LIVER, HEART, KIDNEYS ETC., 🥦 BROCCOLI, BRUSSELS SPROUTS, GREEN PEAS, 🍃 SPINACH, 🍅 TOMATOES, 🥔 POTATOES, 🌾 RICE BRAN.
